THE TRIBE LIFE: What the heck is Yoga?

Have you ever found yourself asking the question, "What the heck is yoga”?

Or maybe you’ve been to a yoga class and your teacher ends class with “namaste” and you’ve wondered, what does that even mean?

Is that some kind of voodoo spiritual chant?!

I’ve been there.

Literally.

I used to be the yoga student who would avoid classes where the teacher got “too spiritual” for my taste. Even chanting “om” during class was a big red flag to get out of there.

Fear of the unknown.

Now I’m the teacher who closes every practice with a Namaste and prefers to chant “om” every once in awhile just because it feels so good!

I’ve had a few brave insiders message me asking those very questions, so before I get too wild with classes after classes, I wanted to first give a brief intro into what exactly yoga is, to help clear up any confusion.

So this week I have two new videos to share with you.

Video #1 answers the question “What is yoga?” as well as a few other commonly asked questions.

Video #2 is a simple flow yoga class (it’s only 5 minutes!) that is perfect for any skill level, especially complete beginners. This sequence is perfect if you’re looking to start a simple sequence to work out the kinks in your body.

My hope is that these videos help make yoga more accessible, less confusing, and less intimidating for you.
