It's so nice to meet you!
A born and raised cheesehead from Brookfield, Wisconsin and I believe there is no greater tool than yoga, to help guide us back to ourselves, and in the process, find greater happiness and fulfillment in life.
I often get asked, "how did you find yoga?"
At first, practicing yoga for me was all about getting that yoga body (I mean who doesn't want that yoga body!).
I was also training for my first 1/2 marathon at the time and heard yoga was a great way to stretch and compliment my cardio training.
The 1/2 marathon came and went but yoga stayed in my life off and on through high school and college as a way to stay fit and mentally centered.
After my first year in the corporate world, however, I started questioning my path. It didn't feel right. I was good at what I did and I was successful at it, but it didn't seem to fit me quite right.
At the same time my passion for yoga became too strong, so I signed up for a 200 HR certification as a way to dive deeper into my practice.
At the time I wasn't planning on teaching.
Soon after completing my certification, my job took me to NYC where I did event marketing for events at Madison Square Garden, the NBA and the NFL all over the world.
On the outside I had the dream job anyone in sports and entertainment would die for, but on the inside I was physically exhausted and mentally drained. Plus, I wasn't particularly passionate about what I did. I started wondering if it was possible to have a career in a field I was passionate about, make a difference in the world, and make a living.
Again, yoga kept coming to mind, and once again I found I couldn't ignore it.
Very impulsively I signed up for a yoga retreat in Puerto Rico, desperately looking for something different and to be around like-minded people who were passionate about yoga and wellness.
After the first day I knew I had found my place.
It had been there all along for me, but it wasn't until this trip that I started to believe that I could make it my career.
In 2016 I left the corporate world to pursue my passion, start my own business and teach full-time.
I currently live in San Francisco, and when I'm not teaching yoga I'm actively trying to convince my fiance that we need a dog.
Yoga is a very personal practice, and my mission as a teacher is to meet my students where they are, and help guide them so they can get to where they want to be.
No matter where you are in your yoga journey, maybe you’re just starting out and heard yoga is "good for you", or maybe you’ve been practicing for years and looking to dive deeper into this practice, either way I’m so glad you’ve found me and that you’re here right now!
If you're still here reading this, thank you so much for taking the time to visit. I'm thrilled we're connected and I'm excited for the journey ahead.
